Terms of use

What this is

LetMotion is a tool for turning your own images and video into a looping showcase, run entirely in your browser. Using it at all means agreeing to what follows; if you do not, the answer is simply not to use it.

It is also in beta. Templates and features will change, some will be added and some withdrawn, and nothing here is promised to stay where you left it.

Your work stays yours

We claim nothing over the files you bring or the videos you make with them. Both are produced on your own machine and never reach us, so there is nothing for us to have a claim to. Use what comes out however you like, commercially included.

In return, the material you put in has to be yours to use. Copyright in a photograph, a typeface, a logo or a piece of footage is not waived by it passing through a browser tool, and what you make with someone else’s work is your responsibility.

What is ours

The studio itself — the code, the templates and the motion in them, the name and the mark — stays ours. Using the tool does not license any of that; it licenses what you make with it, which is a different thing.

The account

Exporting a file asks for a free account, for the reason set out in the privacy notice: the templates are ranked by use, and a count needs to know one person from another. Keep your sign-in details to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else has them.

Paid plans

A free account exports up to 1080p. Higher resolutions are a paid plan, billed by Polar Software, Inc., who is the seller of that purchase — they take the payment, the invoice and the tax. Cancelling, changing a card, or asking for a refund is done through Polar’s customer portal, or by writing to support@letmotion.com.

Paying does not buy the studio, the templates, or a promise that a resolution will keep working on your machine. It unlocks the higher export sizes on this account for as long as the plan is active.

What not to do with it

  • Anything unlawful, or anything made from material you have no right to use.
  • Sexual material involving children, or content that exists to harass or threaten somebody. Accounts used for either are closed without notice.
  • Working around the account, inflating the counts, or reaching for anyone’s data but your own.
  • Automated scraping of the site, or attempts to disrupt it for other people.

We can close an account that does any of the above. Since the work lives in your browser rather than on our servers, closing an account does not touch your projects.

What is not promised

The tool is provided as it is. It renders through your browser’s graphics and video encoders, which differ from machine to machine, so we cannot promise that every template, resolution or format will work on yours — the export dialog tells you what it found rather than guessing.

We cannot promise the site is always reachable, that a template you relied on will still be there, or that a browser update will not break something. Your projects live in your browser’s storage and can be lost by clearing site data, by a full disk, or by the browser deciding to reclaim it. Keep your own copies of the exports that matter.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for work lost this way, for time spent, or for anything that follows from using or not being able to use the tool.

Changes, and the law that applies

These terms change as the tool does, and the date at the top moves when they do. Continuing to use it after that is how the new version is accepted. They are governed by the laws of Indonesia.

Anything unclear here is better asked than assumed: support@letmotion.com.
